Ceramic painting (High temp)
About the Experience
Welcome to Ceramic Painting (High Temp), where you get to paint on ready-made glazed ceramics using overglaze colours. In this relaxing and beginner-friendly session, you’ll choose your ceramic piece from our wide variety of ready-made ceramics, then paint directly onto the glazed surface with overglaze. Once your piece is complete, we’ll fire it in our kiln at around 800°C, allowing the overglaze to fuse onto the ceramic surface.
The final result is glossy, polished, and highly durable — similar to store-bought ceramics. Because overglaze is highly scratch resistant, it is impossible to scratch off with a normal knife once properly fired. This is perfect for anyone who wants to create a beautiful functional ceramic piece with a more refined, finished look.
When you book 1 seat, the price includes:
– Your choice of 1x ready-made M-sized glazed ceramic piece from our available collection
– Overglaze colours for painting your ceramic piece
– All basic painting tools and materials needed for the session
– Brushes, markers, tape, and necessary stationery
– 1x complimentary drink from our cafe menu, redeemable during your session

*1 seat includes 1x ceramic painting piece + 1 drink. This experience is strictly not shareable, as each guest will be painting their own ceramic piece.

What’s so fun about it?
This is ceramic painting with a more polished, store-bought finish. Instead of painting on semi-fired bisqueware like pottery painting, you’ll be painting on already-glazed ceramics using overglaze colours. The colours sit beautifully on top of the glazed surface and, after firing, become scratch-proof and long-lasting. It’s a great choice if you enjoy painting but want your final piece to have a glossier, more refined look. You can create your own mug, plate, bowl, tray, or decorative ceramic piece with designs that feel personal, functional, and made to last.
Not sure which ceramic experience to choose?
– Choose Pottery Painting if you want the classic handmade pottery studio experience — painting on semi-fired ceramic with underglaze before it is fired into a food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe piece.
– Choose Ceramic Painting High Temp if you want a glossier, more polished ceramic finish. You’ll paint on ready-made glazed ceramics using overglaze colours, then we fire it at around 800°C so the design fuses onto the surface and becomes highly scratch resistant, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
They are not replacements for each other — they create two different looks. Pottery Painting gives you that soft, handmade ceramic feel, while Ceramic Painting High Temp gives you a refined, store-bought ceramic finish with your own personal design.
About Our Overglaze Paint
Our industrial overglaze paints are specially formulated for professional ceramic application. Paint directly onto your chosen ceramic piece, mix colours and add your own hand-painted details to create a truly one-of-a-kind design. Once decorated, your piece will be fired in our kiln at around 800°C, permanently fusing the paint to the surface. The final result is vibrant, polished and long-lasting—suitable for everyday use, as well as microwave and dishwasher safe!
Difference between Ceramic Painting “Low-temp heat setting” vs “High-temp firing”
The difference between Low-Temp Heat Setting and High-Temp Firing is the type of paint used.
Low-Temp Heat Setting uses craft-grade ceramic paint that does not require kiln firing—only low-temperature heat setting. Your artwork can be collected on the same day. The finished piece is microwave-safe, lightly scratch-resistant, and not food-safe, so please decorate non-food-contact areas only.
For High-Temp Firing, we use industrial pottery-standard overglaze paint, fired in our kiln at approximately 800°C for 6 hours. This permanently fuses the design onto the ceramic, creating a polished, highly durable finish. The finished piece is food-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and extremely scratch-resistant—just like store-bought overglaze ceramics.
The DIY experience is similar for both: simply choose your colours and paint freely—easy, relaxing and therapeutic. If you’re a traveller, need your artwork on the same day, or are hosting an event where guests need to bring their pieces home immediately, choose Low-Temp Heat Setting. Otherwise, choose High-Temp Firing for a professional finish made to last for years.
Collection time
Your pieces will be ready for collection after 3 weeks. You can either pick it up (we’d love to see you again!) after 3 weeks & within 2 months from our studio or have the option for us to post your piece back to you (for a small fee).
*We will not be contacting our customers to pick up their artwork, artwork not picked up after 2 months will be donated to charity.
Time limit
To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, there is a time limit of 2 hours for this DIY experience. We kindly ask all guests to arrive on time for their booking, as all sessions are run on a fixed time slot basis.
If you arrive late, your session time will still end according to your original booking slot. In cases where your delayed arrival causes an overlap with the next booking, we may need to ask you to leave at the end of your allocated slot and reschedule for another session to continue, so that it is fair to the next customers. Our last call is 5:00 PM, and all last sessions of the day are scheduled to end by or before 7:00 PM (our closing time). Guests who arrive late after 5:00 PM will still need to finish up before 7:00 PM or reschedule for another session to continue.
